Port Stephens NSW - Good Hotels
Can anyone recommend any good hotels, close to a beach, in Port Stephens, NSW?
Looking for a short break early January.
Cheers

We used to book in at Soldiers Point for Easter (two weeks ) a year ahead , cant really place any good residential hotels but there are motels (self catering ) you had best try booking now - January will be frantic.

What is your budget - Peppers Anchorage is rated, also trip advisor has some others too. We go regularly to Port Stephens and usually stay self catering in apartments or cabins. I rate the Oaks chain and rencently was trying to book the Pacific Blue Salamander Bay which is highly rated but they didn't have the dates we needed so I am off to Ulladulla of all places! If anyone has any tips on restaurants down that way I am all ears.
I am back to Port Stephens mid Feb I think and looking to try again for this place.
Hope you enjoy your break

You could take a walk/hike up Pigeon House Mountain http://www.ulladulla.info/climb-pigeon-house-mountain
Fish and chips at the harbour in Ulladulla
Milton Woodfire Pizza – great pizzas and pasta. BYO
Loads of cafes and coffee shops. Some boutique shops in Milton
Mollymook Beach – surf beach, protected on far southern end for kids, patrolled during summer months. Very busy, especially during school holidays. Rocks at southern end have lots of protected rock pools
Narrawallee Beach – (opposite Wonky Pine Beach House) - good surf beach, patrolled during summer months
Narrawallee Inlet / Lake - safe shallow swimming with sandy beaches for kids
Scenic Walk - Commences Cnr North St and Did-del Streets on northern side of Ulladulla Harbour. Follow pathway around headland for spectacular coastal views, while admiring local aboriginal artwork depicting the history of the area
There’s also fishing, boat charters and golf
Mollymook Golf Club overlooking Mollymook Beach http://www.mollymookgolf.com.au/
Hope that helps
