SARS had the potential to kill an awful lot of people but didnt. i suppose HIV/Aids is sitting there in the background rumbling on with no cure in sight as of yet. maybe it will be global warming that gets us, in the same way that the ice age got the dinosaurs.

the ozone layer and global warming are connected but its hard to say to what extent. there are schools of thought that think that the world is goign through a natural period of temperature rise in the same way that thousands of years ago the climate became very cold (i.e. the ice age). its hard to say with conclusive proof how strong the link between ozone depletion and global warming is but i'm sure there will be at least one expert on here who knows.
