For everyone who has had there police checks done- how long did they generally take to get back to you. The form says 40 days- is this realistic. Didnt realise there would be another wait. DIMIA want it all back by beginning of April

Did mine a couple of weeks ago, got the results within a week!! so don't worry

Me to, got them so quick I'm going to send of for more tonight to give us more time

The 1st letter warned of long delays, but results in a week aint a long delay.

Yes. I had my request 2 weeks ago - got my meds done this week and stupidly thought(as i knew you had to go to local police station) that you went in and they printed it off a national computer whilst you waited I must be imagining im in a different country already
Replies seem promising though- just hope its the same for the good old Met.

I haven’t got my requests yet, but I’m pre empting it. Applied March 04.
I’ve booked meds, Closest med was 30th March ffs – a good job I’m booking them in advance.

My meds are on the anniversary of my application, so I expect I’ll have the requests by then, and hopefully this damn waiting game will be drawing to a close

I applied mid march so you should be any day now- Your closet meds were March 31st! Where are you . I could book mine 3 days after i called.

Hi there can u tell me your timeline? We are waiting for police/meds checks request - our credit card was debited 22nd Dec 2004 and we haven't heard anything since

Here's my time line

Its going to be approximate cos without looking it all up ill have to try and remember off the top of my head but here goes
mid/end of Feb 04- sent off skills assessment
early March 04- received positive skills assessment
mid March - sent off visa application by courier
beginning of April 04- money for visa taken
May 04 - acknowledgement for visa received
Beginning of Feb 05- meds and police checks requested
mid Feb -meds done and police checks sent for

This is not going to help you an awful lot because i am a pre julyer and therefore it all took AGES. If you applied in December it will probably take about 5 months- that seems to be about average. Just be thankful you didnt apply when I did and good luck cos the waiting is the hardest part

Yeah - if your money was taken in Dec you will prob get your meds/police check requests about April/May. BUT everyone differs and there are always exceptions that just seems to be the average for those who applied after July 04

Jan sent and got back police checks.

Waiting.....

Plymouth closest for meds, but no appointments for a family of 4 till end of march, Mon 28th (bad day for me)
Taunton cant do meds for all 4 on the same day, (1 per day in late march)

Bristol next appointment 30th march, also £250 all in inc. x-rays and blood tests.(2 adults, 2 children)
