Default Please help: Moving dogs to NZ

Hi everyone,
I would like some help from someone who could recommend a company that specialises in pet removals.
We are moving to NZ next year & have 2 Golden Retrivers & 1 Jack Russell.
Obviously money is an issue, but so is the welfare of our "pack"
Any help, (what's included & whats not etc.)recommendations will be appreciated!

Hi, We are moving to Aus , we have two dogs, Greyhound and Jackrussel who we are
taking with us, it all seems very complicated if you try and organise it yourself,
but our removal firm put us in touch with a kennel near to us who have taken
everything in hand because there is a time scale for vaccinations etc. The whole
thing quarantine, boarding, flights[with BA]injections etc etc for both dogs is costing
us £2000. I hope this is some help to you , not same destination but I would think it
will be pretty much the same. Also Aus only 30days quarantine, so we wont be
separated for long, you can also I believe go to visit them, my boys will only be two
hours away in Sydney. Good luck Wendi

Hi

Depends how you want to do it - for more money companies will sort our all the
paperwork, shipping and vet stuff- the lot.

We decided that this was too expensive and they wanted to take our dogs days before
we left for NZ.

So we got our own vet forms (import one from www.maf.govt.nz and export one
from DEFRA) these detail the tests and treatments the vet must do before the
pooches can go.

We then contacted skydogs (www.skydogs.co.uk) who will do our shipping, they measured
the dogs for the flight containers (you can buy these off the self but for
non-standard dimension dogs you may ned up paying for more space than you need - for
container info see www.iata.org/cargo/live.htm) and had them made.

This way its cheaper, we get to take the dogs to heathrow for the final check and
they go on the same plan as us.

Hope this helps.

J
