Default Please Help - Cairns v Darwin

Hope someone can advise I have been offered a transfer either to Cairns or Darwin. The offer in Cairns is the better one. I have visited both once before Darwin in March and Cairns around this time last year, however, as a tourist you see things different. Please can someone tell me is the humidity worse in Cairns than it is in Darwin. Also what are good secondary and primary schools?sorry for all the questions but I want to make sure we are doing the right thing if I do accept the offer. Thanking you all in advance.

We have just come back from time in both Darwin and Cairns and have to say I love them both. We have been to Darwin a couple of times and it always feels like home. I'm sorry I can't advise on schools up there but hopefully someone will be along soon who can.

Heat & humidity way worse in Darwin by all accounts. There is a reason why the place empties for 6 months of the year (Darwin that is!!!)
Re schools in Cairns, are you looking at State or private? Did you have any suburbs in mind to live in?

Thank you for your replies.
Sally can't really afford private unless it's a catholic school as they are usually cheaper than private at $25,000 a year. Suburbs I really have no idea would love to be near the back drop of those hills. However, some people on here say Northern Beaches so that may be another option. What is Edmonton like or Woree? Thankyou for your help.

Edmonton is a nice suburb unless you are looking at public schools.
We live in Redlynch which gives you a choice of Redlynch State, where my kids go, Freshwater Christian College, sTB aNDERWS cATHOLIC SCHOOL & pEACE lUTHERAN. aLL GOOD SCHOOLS, GOOD SUBURB, FACILITIES, 15 MINS cbd & 10 MINS TO THE BEACHES.
Sorry about the caps lock!
