Please Help !!!
Hi everyone. My wife, kids and I are new to this site and would indeed welcome any advise some of you could offer. As you can see from my user name (BRICKY ADE) I'm a bricklayer and trying to get into Australia on a Skilled Visa. The problem is that after approx. 8 months of tracking down references and writing umpteen stat. DECs. our agent has now informed us that our application cannot be submitted to the TRA as we are finding it hard to put into words the answers for "section 7" on the TRA form. Has anyone got any examples of what to write for a bricklayer. Any help would be indeed very much appreciated !!

Re: Please Help !!!
Hi Bricky saw this job description...
Many help Bricklayers lay bricks, pre-cut stone, concrete blocks and other types of building blocks in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches and other structures.
A bricklayer may perform the following tasks:
work from plans and specifications
seal foundations with damp-resistant materials
spread layers of mortar to serve as a base and binder for bricks, remove excess mortar, and check vertical and horizontal alignment
use various tools and brick-cutting machines to cut and shape bricks
construct arches and ornamental brickwork
repair and maintain clay bricks, cement blocks/bricks and related structures
erect scaffolding (subject to licence requirements in some states).
Small numbers of bricklayers may specialise in refractory work, where they build and line kilns and industrial furnaces; or in the repair of brickwork damaged by salt or damp.
Bricklayers work outdoors and may have to work at heights or in tunnels and shafts. They usually work in teams. Bricklayers may have some contact with the public.
Personal Requirements:
enjoy practical work
good hand-eye coordination
technical aptitude in order to follow plans
able to work at heights and outdoors
physically fit and healthy.
Related Jobs:
Carpenter
Concreter
Construction Worker
Plasterer - Fibrous
Plasterer - Solid
Plumber
Stonemason
Tiler - Roof
All I did was search for job description for bricklayer, just an idea of stuff you can get off the net from google!
Hope it helps!

If your agent cant tell you how to fill in a form :scared: sack him and get your money back or dont pay him. Then do it your self or get a new agent .

Re: Please Help !!!
Just did a quick search for you and the following people have all done TRA for a brickie. You could try e-mailing or pm'ing them to see if they will let you have a copy of theirs.
