We got in touch with local solicitor and took a file full down for him, loads of photocopies and the originals. He was really good did the lot for £5, I dont think he realised how many there was.

Good luck. I have a partner visa but Pollyana is about to get married and go through the second part of the fiancee visa.

Good luck

I know that an MP can do it, and would have thought a doctor too, although Doctors may be a bit busy, and not WANT to do those things.

Are you sure that applies under English law?

I used to live opposite an MP, in UK, and am sure he signed a stat dec for us once.

In Australia maybe but what about the England? Even within Australia there are minor differences state to state on who can witness stat decs.

When I did the stat dec at the solicitors in England I had to swear on the Bible.

The local magistrates court should also have someone legally qualified to witness stat decs.

I just called in to a solicitor's office on our local high street, showed them the photocopies I needed signing, and although they didn't have anyone there at the time that could help, they re-directed me to another solicitor's up the road, and the guy there signed the whole lot for £10 I think.
