Hello all,
I work as oracle DBA in USA, I always liked Australia, being a cricketer !!
I have around 7 years of work experience in software industry.
1.how are the opportunities for my background?
2.how long does it generally take for getting a permanent resident status ?
thanks

I yenni. I've seen your postings on dbasupport.com
There are quite a few positions availbale for DBAS here.
Residency takes about a year as long as you can come up with all the documentation. One thing you should defo. do is start gathering "detailed" references.
see immi.gov.au for migration
and acs.org.au ---> skilled migration section for more.

Hi Yenni,
I played a bit of cricket when I was younger as well. If you have any migration
questions, feel free to float them with me. We could expect a permanent visa for you
in 6-9 months, although a temporary visa would be virtually instantaneous if you
found the right sponsoring employer.
cheers
