Looking at validating our visas in early March next year. Part of our trip will be in Sydney and was wondering if anybody could recommend anywhere to stay, preferably central, for two adults and two children (3 and 18 months).

Cheers

We stayed in the Azure Apartments - central and very lively area, maybe not family orientated but apartment was clean, nicely decorated/furnished, had a kitchen & balcony and was fairly quiet (though there was a building site opp.). Main thing is it was very reasonably priced. It's a Best Western and we got a deal thru' their own website.

Otherwise, always used www.wotif.com if you have the nerve to wait til last minute.

we have stayed in the Waldorf apartment hotel. it's great, right near Darling Harbour - so you can stay around there or get a ferry to circular quay. it's also near china town, paddy's market and the chinese gardens. we have stayed there twice and would go back again, although i admit that last time - last xmas, i felt that the apartment we stayed in could have done with some new decor! - but the beds are comfortable and you get a laundry in your apartment.

the web site is www.waldorf.aust.com

Hi wargod,we have stayed in a hotel called the Gazebo, which is on the border of kings Cross and Potts Point and it has very good views over sydney, if you are stuck on somewhere to stay, if you go to the visitors centre near the rocks, on circular quay, they are very helpful in there, they know all the budget hotels, which are very good value, and they dont charge for any enquiries, good luck in your new venture when you get over there,
regards ray

We did the same last year and had a great time staying in the city at pretty decent rates. They provided excellent accommodation and a very personal service, so try Accommodation Sydney (http://www.accommodationsydney.com.au/index.html)

We stayed with Wardolf near Darling Harbour. It’s a great location although it might be a bit small for all of you though? We moved from there to the Wardorf Apartments at Woolloomooloo. (Woolloomooloo Waters).

The rooms are very spacious however the locations not as great as the Darling Harbour one…. it’s a 10/15nimute walk into the city through the park and it over looks the wharf where Russell Crowe’s apartment is…
