Places to live in perth?

Places to live in perth?
Im in perth for another 3 weeks anyone tell me areas i shoulod check out for homes or areas to live,i am going back for approx a year but just wanting a feel for what there is to offer and have a hire car to check places out,want a mixture of everything i think,but can be flexible.

Close to everything and some lovely areas - I prefer the older areas. Some suburbs in this zone are very expensive but there are bargains to be had.

Just a a place of interest for a day out go to serpentine falls!!!! Take lunch theres bbqs there. I think its 10 dollars to get in but you get to eat your lunch with kangaroos and go for a swim in the waterfall!!!!
In regards to live I prefere south of the river. But I haven't experienced much of north. Secret harbour, safety bay are lovely and on the coast. It depends what your looking for. And to be honest the traffic isn't a problem there so it doesn't take long to get to places!!!!
