Hi,
We used Allied Pickfords in January this year, Wiltshire to Melbourne. I think we were quoted for approx 800ft but we went for sole use of a 20ft container. We paid just under £3000 including insurance. The company were excellent at both ends, we have no complaints and would certainly recommend them.

Most "bunkering fuel" contracts[ship fuel] ended on 30 june ,so all fuel will be charged at new RATES so all shipping costs will increase , and be passed on  .................... mm

I take it that's not a good thing for us customers?? Funny though another couple we know that are going from our neck of the woods got a quote from pickfords for 490 Cu. Their quote came in at £2000 and they were told £600 insurance (no 3% thing). And I'm sure they were heading Rockhamton. I think an extra 10 Cu for approx £500 is pushing it a wee bit.

If we need our bikes fumigated in Oz (better not after I scrub them!) then it'll be around $500.

Anybody shipping roughly the same size had any other prices?

Hi Ginny

We had a quote from Pickfords for exactly the same volume, but ours came in at £3500!!. We're in Herts - I wonder if they bump up their prices for people in the South...

I would have thought it'd be cheaper as you were closer to London. That's where the guy says it would be transported to then shipped to Brisbane!

For that amount of money you could get a container to yourself!

Cheers
