Pickfords quote, any comments?
Hi,
Just had a man from Pickford's in today to get a quote for shipping East Coast Scotland to Brisbane. He quoted just under £2500 for 500Cu (about half a container. That was door to door with 2 weeks each side free storage, packed and unpacked. Marine insurance was 3% of valuation of goods. If we need our bikes fumigated in Oz (better not after I scrub them!) then it'll be around $500.
Anybody shipping roughly the same size had any other prices?
Cheers
Ginny

You have to be careful about the OZ agents because if they don't know what they're doing then you'll get a lot of damage during customs and quarnteen clearing.
Check they are a national co over there like Grace Removals or Kent or Annset - you see their containers everywhere on the roads.

Last time we used PSS but they weren't anything like what they're cracked up to be on here. Sent 15 teachests and a lot of broken stuff and missing items.
