Both COD were wrapped in cardboard, no idea how damage occurred. We had a 20ft container on our own yes and I couldn't tell you how much the insurance was as our sponsoring employer paid for everything. We had to list everything but unfortunately listed them at UK prices so....
I see ur in Sydney, are you moving back to the UK?

Was just worried about the insurance but called them and they were helpful and explained how it works.
We were going to use Careline but read an article in AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND magazine last month about how bad they are and how one family had 50 playstation games missing and broken presents etc and were only offered 33 euro for the whole lot on the insurance when it was worth at least over 1000 euro and when they compalined they didn't want to know.
I called them to clarify how their insurance works but they were very vague in their explanation.

Not very helpful I know, but our insurance said to write the cost of replacing them at your destination. I spent hours using the net to figure out what things might cost.
Then we contacted the insurance company directly to make a claim, they wanted us to get people out to look at everything and provide written quotes etc., god knows how much that would have cost, we gave up and didn't bother. The main annoying thing is that our welsh dresser in which the drawers are so individual they each have their own particular slot, has one drawer completely jammed in. That and two lampshades were wrecked. Our flat packed chest of drawers now go down a lot more in the middle than they used to, but they were argos so not as strong as Ikea. Perhaps if we'd contacted Britannia we might have been given some money!
Good luck with your claim Jen.

Hi, we arrived in Brisbane in January. We also went with pickfords. However a number of boxes did not arrive and we are currently still having DISCUSSIONS with the insurance. I don't want to go into it too much just now, however make sure you cost everything at replacement cost, check how much it will cost to replace in OZ. Make sure that if a box is labelled clothes that it is clothes that are in it. Also when your goods are delivered make sure all the boxes correspond with the paperwork. Make sure you itemize all items, i know it is a pain in the ass but if something goes missing it will be worth it. Good luck.

It wasnt a sale as such but everthing in that range was reduced.
