Do you know where you are headed yet - have you done the validation thing, or are you just going once you get your Visas?

We`ve passed TRA but due to hubby`s current work situation we can`t apply for the visa until the end of next year. We won`t be doing a reccie trip before we go (trying to save every penny for the move), hubby has been to Perth before(2 years ago), however me & daughter have never been before. :D

We are hoping to do a reccie over to Perth early next year to validate visas and then we can come home and sell up in our own time.

Thats the plan anyway! :D

We've got friends there but even if we didn't we'd still go. We were going to Adelaide initially on SIR but now got enough points for PR (MODL thingy) so Perth it is.

Perth is really beginning to hot up now, after a long and wet winter.
Take a look at my website, lots of links for interesting places and things to do in Perth.

There seems to be alot of people who do know people out there already, I'm a bit worried about settling in, but I suppose it's all part of the adventure!

Do you have children?

No, we don't have children.

I am nervous about finding jobs! Other than that I am not worried. But the job thing is quite a big worry. But then I tell myself not to be silly - we'll find something ...

We're off to Perth mid-Jan 2006. The children to start school at the start of Feb.

Please don't tell me how close that is - really looking forward to it but so much to organise still ! The adventure begins.

We have been out there for holidays for the last three years and have some friends there which is a help but you will find there are a lot of Brit expats out there.

Dh has a couple of business colleagues here that he knew previously, but otherwise we knew no-one here. But the Aussies are so very friendly that finding new friends is a total breeze. We're having trouble finding time to take up all the invites!! It is a wonderful surprise - we didn't expect to settle in so quickly. We have one daughter, 8, and the school gate is a marvellous place to get chatting, and if you get involved in school activities it helps too.

Good luck - I'm sure you'll settle down in no time. :)

Hi Suzy

I notice you are in Buckinghamshire. Where abouts.
I am in Milton Keynes. Myself, hubby and 15 month old son are planning to go to Perth hopefully early 2008. Hubby has a trade which is on MODL list but has to do 12 months recent experience in job. Done 5 months now so can start process June 2006.
Doing a recci in Feb 2006 as never been to perth before only to East Coast previously.

Hi, we have had visa for a week! Have to validate by 5th September 2006.
We have put house on market so have to wait and see how long that takes to
sell, then Perth here we come. We went to Perth at Easter after hubby got positive TRA, and loved it. Friends moved out there in July and have really settled well apart from the missing relatives and friends, don't know how Im gonna do the goodbyes when its our turn!!
Good luck

Will be staying in Spearwood when we first arrive, but hope to buy in Freo - if we can afford it - depends on job situation. I like, south/east/north and central Fremantle - don't mind where we end up to be honest. Can't wait, getting really excited now and don't want to be at work! :)

Hi Dawn, keep us in mind for the first week or so, as when you travel all this way you really do need your own space, especially if you only have "very distant family" here. Our web page is http://members.westnet.com.au/cedarcottage/ Just another option. Good luck.Suzette and Will.
