Just before you leave the house to get on the plane, check out
www.bom.gov.au/weather/wa
This is the Met. Office's official site and you'll be able to see an up-to-date forecast.
Night-time temps ( min.) are still around 18-21C at the moment. Hoping it cools down soon, so I can get a decent night's sleep!
Enjoy your trip.

Whilst you will probably be alright after coming out of the UK winter to here, it still might be prudent to bring a fleecy or something as someone else suggested. Whilst the temps on paper seem good, you notice when you're used to the hot days a drop of about 10 degrees...it feels chilly.. I'm a pretty hardy Yorkshire lass, but I feel the cold on an evening here...I've turned into such a big girl's blouse since moving here!! LOL!
Not to mention you will need long sleeved stuff if you're out and about at dusk....the mossies!!
Happy holidays tho! sorry don't know about any meets.
love sophia xx

Also, although the temps are ok, be prepared for rain in winter. It can fair bucket down when it has a mind too. Winter here is June July August but even May and September can be a bit wintery still at times.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------Karl,
I have copied this from the Poms in Perth web site. It sounds like a brilliant place.

Hi Gang
For the rest of the summer/autumn, ALL PIP monthly get-togethers will be held at Neil Hawkins Park, Joondalup
If you haven't been there before, turn off Joondalup Drive into Boas Ave and follow to the end - it takes you straight into the car park !
Look for the Poms in Perth banner and you'll find us !
2pm onwards on the LAST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH !!
After the Feb one (at Hilarys) we were all blown to bits by the wind so we have looked at all our "usual venues" and decided that Neil Hawkins Park is the most suitable for the following reasons -
1) Plenty of car parking
2) Public BBQ's (free !)
3) Public Toilets
4) Well sheltered
5) Plenty of Kangaroos for the kids
6) Parrots that eat out of your hand
7) Regular Ice Cream man
Play ground with swings 'n' slides for the kids
9) Large grassed area for playing soccer/cricket etc
10) Lake
All in all, Neil Hawkins Park has just about everything that the seasoned migrant or the newly arrived family can wish for
Bring your picnic/bbq and something to drink and you will be most welcome !

Spoke to the pip editor Nigel at the sandown show seemed nice enough
I picked up two books on perth one from them one from wa gov both quite usefull for those going for the first time, the wa gov one was free at the show but says A$13.95 on the front contact the publisher on;
[email protected]
Book called Living in perth australia a ref manual for migrants and residents ,2004/5 edition.
The Poms in Perth one is avaliable via the pip web site .

Re: perth temps at night
Wouldn't recommend the PIP book, or should I say "booklet". One of our mates was given it and it doesn't have any info which hasn't been put on here already.
PIP is a handy site though.

Hi Baggie!
All the best on your mission to spread some (more?) culture down under!
Did you notice that on baggies.com the second report on one of the recent games (Blues maybe) was posted by the West Australian Baggies?
They'd just had a barbie with 30+ attending.
If any of you Ozzie Baggies are out there please get in touch - I'm hoping that there'll be the the odd nailbiter still to find a place to watch between now and the end of the season.
By the way, we're out there for good on 27th April!
Keep on boinging!
