i am in perth at the mo and moving to brisbane soon, my older boy is in year 9 at high school and he will be 14 in july (born in 1993) will he go into the same year there , i have heard he may go into year 8 as they start school later there ....

Hi, he should still be in Year 9 as he turns 14 within that year. Year 9 is for those born between Jan 93 to Dec 93. What can make it confusing is that some schools hold some pupils back and so they are in the year below what they should be. That will not be a problem for your son I'm sure

In Brisbane it's 'age appropriate'. The school year is the same as Perth, Jan - Dec, just looking on the net.
