Perth here we come!

Hi Jo,
We arrived in Perth on 8th Feb. Had never been before, left friends and family in UK etc, etc and so far its the best decision we have made for our future. We live just down the road from Port Kennedy so feel free to ask anything and I will try and help. If I can't someone else will.
Speak soon

Hi there,
We have just got our visa and are hoping to move to Mandurah in July. Never been before and have no family or friends out there!
My mam and stepdad are waiting for thier visa to come, they went last year for 4 weeks and know a few over there but not many!
My OH is a painter.

Hi Gordon & Laura
Sorry for the late reply, just signed in. Hillary's meet is an open house and definitely not clicky.
As someone else has put it is at Hillary Boat Harbour at 12noon, you cant miss the group as there is an Oz flag and a Tigger on the table and the group is big (although we did!!!). They were lovely and welcoming and so friendly. One of the women there set up an information guide for expats at Joondalup library and by all accounts is very good (she won an award for it). Everyone welcomed us and one of the group invited us to a barbie on 1st meet.
OH will have no problem with work NOR or SOR it is one big mass of development.
If you have kids then it is no problem too.
Good luck and hope it goes well.

Loads of things to see and do when I get there.
Maybe one day soon we'll all get to meet.
Just realised - I think I've been on this computer all day - how sad is that!!!!

I know what you mean, we go through phases of thinking 'this can' be true, it doesn't feel real' and then think 'oh my god, we should be there in a few months!' to be honest though we are really excited and can't wait to arrive

So far its great.
Got a nice rental in Connolly nor - my advice, check out the private ones, we found less people fighting for them!
My husband soon found a job with a resonable starting wage. I suppose I should start looking!!!
Just need to start getting out to meet some folks now. Hope to go to Hillarys next Thursday.
Where are you heading?
