I'm quite happy things being the way they are if I can take the kids to the local beach on Saturday afternoon and be the ony ones there (and it's normally sunny, the wind adds atmosphere, and the showers have only been occassional). Mind you we did have to have the agent's handyman out yesterday when yet another piece dropped off our rental house in the wind!

Didn't know that thunder & lightning stopped there being a drought. As for the rain, thought you'd been here for a while, "pee'd down" was hardly what I would call last nights storm. Brisbane airport got 5mm. Even the Sunshine Coast didnt average an inch out of it.

But hey, it makes all the people on this site happy, well obviously happier if there was no rain at all .

Ita a big state and rainfall is often localised, eg compare Tully to Cully, 3 odd metres a year in the former

Quite disappointing really - you sit here watching the weather radar, then when the rainclouds arrive you don't get enough to drown a mouse (or should that be a hamster ) Definitely not pee'ing down

Unfortunately the lack of rainfall isn't very localised here in the Southern part of the state, hence why we have a drought.

We got a bit of steady rain, my guess is more than the BOM site shows, but certainly not even close to enough, it didnt even run off into the dam. My guess would be about 10mm (I have to guess since our new rain gauge we've had since xmas is still sitting in the kitchen )

Stage 2 water restrictions next week - not good! Even worse when we get to stage 3 & you arent allowed to turn a hose on, you have to do everything by bucket :scared: .
