it doesn't take very long at all. Perth International, although expanding is still very "regional". You will find the queues at the Australian Passport holder queue larger than the others and you tend to move quicker. Customs is straight forward.

I reckon 30 minutes after landing (or less) you will be in the Car Park swatting flies...

I have met numerous rellies at the airport and flown back here heaps of times and that would be an average time. I live in Greenmount and can watch a plane come in from my dirveway... drive to the airport in 15 minutes and wait about the same for visitor to come through. Gone are the days of waiting on the viewing deck for lights in the distance......!

It takes ages sometimes look at 30 mins to 1 hour!

are the flies really that bad...we are in auckland and there bad here in summer, surely they can be no worse

Sorry the comment about the flies was a glib remark, however they can be bad. OK at the moment because it is cooler but come October/November... out comes the Rid!

Slightly off-topic but related - be aware that there is only one ATM at Perth airport. We didn't imagine that an international airport would have only one ATM, seems this was stupid of us as when we flew in the only ATM in the whole place was broken and we had to change some precious traveller's checks at high cost...
