Default Perth - Adelaide - Brisbane ????

Hi as yet we have not decided which part of Oz to move too, and would welcome any feedback or advice.

Hubby is a gas fitter so would be looking for that kind of work, we have 2 kids (16 and 13)

We are looking at either Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane.

Would like to know where is the best place for work and house prices.

Would very much welcome any info.

Thanks

Nicky

Perth. Shits all over the rest of Australia. Brisbane is a hole and then some. Never been to Adelaide.

melin's right - what you need to do is search on this forum for similar threads - there are plenty of them! The have a look at some job websites (careerOne and Seek are good) and some real estate websites (like realestate.com and domain). look at where the jobs are, and comapre house prices. That should give you a good starting point. Also think about what you want out of living in Australia - your preferred lifestyle will influence the city you choose.

Having said all that, I'd still vote brisbane as house prices are generally better than Perth, the economy is booming and has good long term growth prospects (particuarly in the south east) and you've got easier / faster / cheaper access to all the other cities on the eastern seaboard.

Don't know about the others, but I wouldn't come to Perth. Have also heard Adelaide is like Perth but smaller and quieter (can't believe that!). Know a few people here who are going to try Brisbane, I think there's more going on, but it is more humid.

No don't believe it Adelaide is NOTHING like Perth, except we are expecting a housing boom over the next 5 years or so

Brisbane is cool, spent a month there last year and really enjoyed it. I found it very easy to get around by public transport. Property can be expensive but it depends on where you want too live. If you are prepared to live out of the city and commute, property is more affordable.

Perth is good too, house prices have really shot up there in the last 2/3 years, so it can no longer be viewed as the cheaper option. Basically it all depends on what you and your family want.

I cannot comment on Adelaide as I haven't been there.

Perth is my favourite by far. Spent 6 months there great city and life beaches ect. Brisbane hot sweaty and far quicker pace of life compared to perth and adelaide very nice city bit quieter than perth in my opinion, probably the forgotten city compared to others, as far as immigration goes!
