It is a lot less congested than the UK, with the exception of shopping centre car parks. But the friendliness of the people still surprises me. We sorted a rental yesterday. It is a 4 bed, 3 bathroom in Currambine but no pool. Still we are only 5 mins from the beach. There are lots of job ads for accountants so I don't see that being a problem. We are going car hunting in a bit. I love Perth and apart from when I heard Leamington FC had made it into the first round proper of the FA Cup against the big boys I haven't had a moments doubt we have done the right thing. well done, glad that things are sounding so great, good luck with the car buying, :) once you are mobile with you own caryour life will only get better. Re: Perth 1 week in update
We sorted a car within the day on Friday, but it was a long day. We went all along Scarborough Beach Road but we were looking for something a bit older in a Rav 4 (Sam has always wanted one). We must have gone to about 5 Toyota dealers before we stumbled on John Hughes in Victoria Park and managed to talk them down $1000 and get a free 3 year warranty out of them. We collect it tomorrow.
By way of a reward for our efforts we went to Hilary's yesterday. It was much quieter than last Sunday and we chilled on the beach while Maryann played. I am not looking forward to it, but ought to start job hunting soon. But I have persuaded Sam that the prospects look good enough that I can wait until we are in the house and have sorted ourselves out before I start anything serious. I may just start putting some feelers out for now. We are going to Currambine Primary school tomorrow to see about starting Maryann there. We got driving licences within a few days in the post after returning with proof of address, Commonwealth bank have been efficient once we realised we need to go to Premium Banking rather than ordinary Migrant banking and TFN's have been ordered. So all our hard work seems to be paying off. It is quite surprising how much we have achieved in 10 days on reflection. |
