Permission to by a house ?
Can anyone offer any guidance on this one.
We will be on temporary business owners visa, so would need permission to buy a house, right ?
Is it a straight forward process and do they like you to have been in country for a while first.
Wife hated renting here in UK and now we have kids is very unhappy about selling here only to go into rental in Oz.

If you do buy, what's the plan in case you don't get permanent residence and have to leave? Also, have you considered the financial impacts? (eg on Living Away from Home Allowance, etc).

You must get FRIB approval first, which is straight forward and takes about 3-4 weeks.
remember to put that in as part of you contract along with pest and building and finance.
It's always a good idea to rent first so you can get to know the area.

If it didn;t work out, just sell it.
I juat cant imagine living in a rental for upto 4 years, where the kids cant even decorate their own room
