Thumbs down Paypal

Has anyone used it to transfer money into their UK bank account whilst over here?
I'm getting stung with a $25 transfer fee every time I do it,all I want to do is pay the credit card!
Or is there another way of getting round this trap?

What is the charge?

Westpac allow international transaction from online banking at $15 a pop. Not sure what fees would be attracted at the other end.

I would not recommend Westpac. To many fees.

Look on the CBA web site.

Are you paying off an old debt?

Transeferring money this way is only efficient with large sums.

They are a nightmare. I have a years student loan repayments in the UK and I am saving the next years here. I try and send over as much as possible in one go.

All I can advise to everyone else is to pay off all your cards/debts before you leave because of the bank fees.

I use www.tranzfers.com; $15 per transfer (or £7 going the other way) - move enough in one go to a UK account to pay your credit card bill for a few months, then pay the bill by internet banking.
