We have had our visa some time now and need to be in Oz by April 2010 - house is on market but despite lots of viewings only very cheeky offers

Just in case we are still waiting..............My passport (with the Aus visa in) runs out in January 2009 - what do I do? tried searching as I've read it before somewhere, I'm not sending it off anywhere as I don't trust I'll get it back so am happy to go to the passport office??

You will have to send your passport off for renewal and when it comes back they will also send you your old passport which has your visa inside.

You will travel with both passports when entering Australia.

My daughter had to do this recently but she had already validated her visa in old passport when it was valid.

When you arrive in Oz just go to Immigation with the two passports and they will cancel the old one and put a new one in the new passport.
Takes 5 minutes to do but watch out for the queues. Suggest you try and get there when it opens in the morning.
