Default passport question/visa mistake

is it more expensive to renew a passport in australia? it was only when i was scrutinising our newly stuck in visas that i realised my daughter will need a new passport next year.
also they have made a mistake in my sons visa. the validation date is 04 april 04 it should be 10 april 04 ,wouldnt be such a prob if we werent planning to go on 5th april.
would immigration realise its a mistake when they see the other 3 passports and the letter that says 10th april or do you think we should send it back

I would send it back - you have time. These things are all computerised aren't they, so it could be a hassle for immigration to override the computer, even if you have a letter. You could end up being stuck at immigration for an hour while they sort it all out!

It's twice as expensive to renew in Aus.
