Passport Interview
#1
OK, here we go.
sent off the application last week, they took the 60 quid and sent me a letter saying i had to attend an interview within 10 days or the application would lapse
So, i go on wednesday to manchester.
Can anyone tell me what this interview is all about, do i just tell them " we want to emigrate " or should i say something really smooth like " i have always felt australian and know my life will be complete with one of their fine passports " ?

Haha Paul, as Bondi said, if its the same as getting an aussie passport here in Oz, the "interview" is merely to check that you are who you say you are & to sight your ID etc. Dont panic

After all they probably dont even know that you are thinking about emmigrating ....... as far as they know you are getting a passport & want to go to spain on holidays
.
Im sure there are people who get a passport & never even use it!

I'm too late I think, but for others who find this thread looking for info
:
I agree with BP and Mrs Dagboy.
I haven't been in the same situation but similar:
A few years back I had to renew my passport in The Hague. I had to have an 'interview' cos I was going from a childs passport (5 years?) to adult passport (10 years).
Well, there was no interview, just me giving ID over the counter, and us saying something of about 2 sentences to each other (chit chat I think ??) and that was it!
So, nothing to be :scared: of.
ANd I don't think saying your're emigrating is bad. Maybe even good. But I don't think they'll ask any how.
Anyway, I'm to late, sorry!
(have finally got an internet connection at work again! 3 days without! And email here is still not working! The server crashed friday morning!

..............................and have now returned.
Well what a bloody waste of time that was !
As mentioned by others it WAS merely to sight my ID and to check a few boxes on the application form.
She asked " when do you plan to travel.......? "
I replied " next year.........."
Then, the wife blurts out " we're emigrating
"
Turns out the lass thought it was a good idea to emigrate anyway, so there was no harm done.
Then, she asked for another 2 pounds !!!!! because the price had gone from 60 notes to 62..................gutted,every penny counts and all that.
Thank you to all that attempted to ease my fears.
Now if i could just do something about those bloody spiders

Paul, I assure you, as soon as you see one of these darned cockroaches, you will never worry about spiders again. At least I know where they come from now - up the plughole in the washbasin in the bathroom! Guess who will be investing in a heavy duty plug......
