is it a Casual contract? or are you classed as permanent part time?

As far as I knew, casual = no holiday pay, however permanent part time = holiday pay in lieu...as it worked out based on the hours you work...

Are you being paid at casual rates, ie: with the loading added to cover no holiday pay ?

It does seem a bit odd though, that you get sick leave but no holiday pay I always thought the loading covered the lack of holiday and sick pay.

I got this info from the Australian Council of Trade Unions web site

"Part-time work
A potent force in Australian industry; especially as many part-time jobs are in the fast growing services sector. Part-time workers are permanent employees who have a set number of weekly working hours. Many part-time workers receive benefits like those of full-time workers on a proportional or pro rata basis.

It must come down to individual agreements though.

I'd go argue! Our casuals get higher rates of pay as no added benefits, permanent part timers get sick pay, holiday pay & super, so no it's not standard to get no holiday pay.
