I have a test done every two years, as well as a mammogram ( being over 40).

I go to the Women's clinic in Southport for my smear, all female doctors who give a good Well Womens check up.:)

i was like you, didn't have a test for years because of..the umm..."process", and couldn't get the courage to do it. Glad I did now, I dread to think what would have happened if i never went.

Go and get the test, you need to know if something is worng as quick as possible. The earlier the better.

They know what I'm like, as the last time, the nurse had to take me home :o

they use a brush now so its easier less fiddly :thumbsup:

Possibly....the brushes have been around for several years, and are slowly being taken up by GPs. Some prefer to remain with what they are familiar.

Brush? I thought they had to scrape cells off the cervix. It must be like a yard broom to pick up enough cells surely.

I don't mean to sound flippant. I went once but never been back. Too scared they will damage something that works ok. :eek: Q
