Seems you have not the slightest notion of the skill required to run a successful mine. Stick to your last, cobbler.

The sum total of your knowledge about mining comes from a film called "Snow White"! Your opinions appear to be slightly less than totally ignorant.

You say "a film called snow white" as if you have never heard of it. Surely even a backwards desert land like wherever it is in Oz that you reside has had snow white on at the pictures by now?
You are looking forward to Herbie goes bananas and the magnificent seven?

It really is no better in any other country, Australia has just the same problems as Britain. It's easier to avoid the news over here, the news is not so 'in your face'.
When will the British media start talking 'up' Britain, they do so much damage.

Unfortunately, although being two very different countries in many, many ways, they both have their problems. Its just that Australians have been conditioned to "talk up" their country. In some ways this is very good news -
At school assembly this morning, the Headteacher was giving the children a right lecture to a few kids who kept their hats on during the singing of the National Anthem, saying it was disrespectful etc. Can you imagine English children standing up and singing the National Anthem? Nope. Most schoolchildren in England probably wouldn`t have a clue what the words were anyway.
Again at assembly today, the children were given a talk on taking pride in their environment and another lecture followed on picking up litter in the playground. English school playgrounds are awash with litter and the kids couldn`t give a monkeys!
It is a great pity that so many English people (and children) have forgotten what "respect" means - and please don`t quote Ali bloody G here - and also a pity that a lot of English people have a "couldn`t give a toss" attitude when it comes to their own communities.

If you look at all the big mining concerns and their origins I think you you find Great Britain has and still does more in the mining industry world wide than most including Australia.

You know less than zilch - your knowledge of history is a negative.
P.S.: think you skipped the video chapter about the British industrial revolution.
