Hmmm getting statistical like ABC now.

Which City has more dry days though? Melbourne or London?

I know the average temperatures are higher in Melbourne. I think the rainfall is probably on par. Anyway london does not have any beaches and with all the pollution on a hot day is very uncomfertable.

Well London gets lower rainfall than Melbourne. For the last 18 months we have been in drought - reservoirs at 1/3 of what they should be. I reckon it rains about 1 or 2 days a month here. There is talk of water restrictions coming this summer unless we have some serious rainfall.

But I'd still prefer a wet day in Melbourne than an overcast day in London !!!

Cheers

Average temps are a fair bit higher in Melbourne. At least 5 degrees, and the reality is that extremes can make them a *lot* higher, by 10 degrees or more in the summer. Cooler days lower the average.

Eh? When you say somewhere 'has a milder climate' it means that it has better average year round temperatures! So Melb'n does have a milder climate than Southern England. Where did you get the idea that it meant the opposite?

I am perfectly aware that Melb'n regularly exceeds 40 degrees C in the Summer; I've spent two Summers there already, so I ought to know...
