When they quoted you they shouldve said whether you could fit all your stuff in the 20 footer.Thats what a quote is all about isnt it ?

Have they filled the container yet? My packers thought the same might happen, but they managed to get it all in.
Hope it goes ok.

Anything you could happily leave behind or small enough to ask someone to send on to you in parcel form?

Hope it doesn't come to that though.

Surely that is what a quote is for mine tried this one on and I told them that if it did not fit in then it would be at there cost. It soon went in then.

Best of luck.

We have about three parcels too much and they sent them in a shared container that followed a couple of weeks later.

A quote is a quote and they are the professionals at working out how much stuff you have and whether it will fit, if it doesn't, this is their problem to either pack the container better or get it out to you later.

You will find that removal company's quote on an 'estimated' volume. That means that if the volume goes up or down from the estimate there is the possibility that your price might be adjusted. As a rough guide, even with an experienced estimator, volumes can be out by as much as 10% simply because estimating is not an exact science.

If you get three to four estimates you can usually spot those who have quoted on too low a volume!

The reason removals firms quote an estimated volume is as much to cover themselves as the customer, because some customers do actually add stuff which they then insist they showed at the survey!
