PACIFIC PINES!!! ANY COMMENTS PLEASE??

Hi

I am looking at Pacific Pines for moving too when we get our visa.

Any comments on this suburb or other surrounding suburbs would be greatly appreciated.

I have 3 daughters, aged 11, 9 and 9months along with myself and hubby.

Any info on houses, schooling etc would be fantastic.

Thanks
Mandy

We have lived at Pacific Pines for the last 5 months and love it. We bought some land in February 2007 (1000 sq) and finished building on it in January 2008. Its close to everywhere and idea for families. If you need any further information please let me know.

Thanks for that.

Is it cheaper to buy land and build your own house?

My hubby a builder so he would build most of it for us?

Thanks, Mandy

Im not sure if it is any cheaper especially with the cost of land being so expensive now, however you do get exactly what you want. The average size block of land now is 600 sq and costs approximately $260k.

pac pines is a great family area. it has a small shopping centre that is just about to expand, a community centre, tennis courts, footie pitch, football pitches and a local football team for kids.
2 skateparks, plenty of schools, parks cricket pitch, tavern, too many things to list really. only one part of pac pines is next to the motorway and that 12 years old. the new builds are nowhere near the motorway. its 15 mins to the nearest bech and about 25 mins on a good day to surfers.
here are some photos

Hi,

We stayed with friends in Helensvale last year, which is not far from Pac Pines and is really lovely. I did detect a hint of snootyness while we were there suggesting that Pac Pines is an "estate" though I thought it looked fine.

Its one of the places we will be having a look at when we eventually get there, along with Helensvale, Coomera, Upper Coomera and Ormeau. (OH will be using train to work in Brisbane CBD).

From what I can make out from all the way over here (boo hoo:frown:) there is a fairly good scattering of schools along that way. Obviously will need to check this out for ourselves upon arrival but I am not too concerned at this point.

Good luck!
Ren.

It is an Estate, with a roughhouse pub.
Try Riverstone Crossings, or Huntingdon downs in the same area.

It's probably quieter down there....bigger blocks, but with motorway noise up here. I walk the dog round the 'Glade Drive, Pac Pine Boul, Binsted Road' block at least twice a week....trying to shrink at the moment :D

Thank you Soapy. Just trying to get an idea. When we were over last year we had virtually decided on North Lakes, but now that we're not going on a sponsored visa, suppose my husband's job could be anywhere north or south of the city, so am just looking at other options.

That sounds better than here, Got to drive my oldest out to winderoo for his school, which means there are no kids from his school around here.( well there probably is but we cant find them lol).
As far as he knows there is only one other girl from the uk at the school.
Just drove right round Jacobs Ridge in Ormeau with him and saw 1 man cutting his grass, that was it.No kids anywhere!!!!

Thanks Soapy x
