We have been in Australia for a year this Saturday and have lived in Pacific Pines since January. We love it here. There is a small shopping area with a supermarket, chemist, video shop, newsagents etc. There is a high school and a couple of junior schools and a fantastic play area for the younger kids with a lake and barbies. Also you are only 5 minutes away from Helensvale Westfield shopping centre which is only a year old and has all the shops you could need really. From our house it takes about 10 minutes by car to the nearest beach which is more of a lagoon and very child friendly for the younger kids but if you want to go to the beach and use a boogie board or just have a swim in the waves, then I would say it certainly takes no longer than 20 minutes by car. We put an offer in on our house in the second week that we were in oz and certainly have no regrets.

Hope this helps.

It was nice once, but you have to remember that Soapy lives there now and this has to be taken in consideration when one is looking to purchase a property in Pac Pines. It is not as bad as living on an earthquake fault line but is certainly worth considering.

Only joking mate, Soaps is a local attraction and house prices have risen dramatically since he resided in Pac Pines.

No it doesn`t have a college, I think one of the nearest colleges is the TAFE college in Ashmore. I might be wrong though.

Correct me if I am wrong someone but the nearest college is about 5 minutes drive away called Griffith Uni.

Pacific Pines is great. We have rented here since August and intend to stay round here for a good while yet.

The Pacific Pines Primary school is excellent and my Son has settled there so quickly and has made lots of friends plus the other Mums there have been very nice too.

Location wise its really quick to get everywhere with the Smith Street MWay that is actually a dual carriageway that takes you straight to the sea and surfers. The Pacific Highway is a motorway that takes you to South to Coollengatta (sp) and north to Brissy is only 3-5 min drive away but far enough so you can not hear it at all.

Hope it helps a little.
