We watched it with Mrs Bluerobot in her very groovy bed that does all sorts of things
But then the four kids came up and spoilt it all
and kept shouting oh wow we're going there and aaawww look at that mum! It just got all of our excitement to fever pitch and the kids were running around like looneys (fuelled by large amounts of coke floats:scared: ) oh and Hi Dave hows Sydney this fine morning!

Really enjoyed the programme, and made me realise that there is a whole lot of Australia that will take some years to look at.
Still not sure about that snake (Taipan). Does anyone know if they have those in the Perth area, or is it in other areas.

The snake on the show was an Inland Taipan which is found in the interior of the country. There is also a Coastal Taipan not as deadly and I don't think they are found in Perth but in less developed coastal areas further north.
Kind Regards

Erm - it won't matter where you live...there will be snakes, they will be venomous and they could kill you.
Personally I've not spent 1 moment thinking about them. whats the point.
If you are a parent you should know what snakes are in your area and what to do if one of yours takes a bite from one of them. To not know this is negligent and irresponsible parenting IMHO.
Once you have that on board forget about them - your chances of an encounter in urban areas are slim. In the country I guess more so, but still not great.

Taipans are one of the few snakes that are aggressive and attack rather than just defending itself. Anyway stats show you in more danger on the road, in the swimming pool or the ocean. No snakes around Bondi (except on the surf).
