Default Over 45's, any chance ?

I'm lucky and have my visa just waiting to sell the house.

I have a question though regarding a friend of mine who wants to emigrate aswell but he is almost 46.

His trade is on the MODL list and has 25 yrs experience

Wife and 2 young kids

No health issues.

What are his chances, slim or none ?

Regards,
Ian.

My husband is 47, he is a welder, and we have been sponsored by a company to go over on a 457 visa, so I cannot see why your friend wouldn't be able to do this.

It can and has been done.

We got in on a RSMS visa (employer sponsor) we applied 5 months before my wife's 45th birthday........she's been in Adelaide for 5 weeks now.

Your friend needs to get it sorted quick..............or he would have to sweat it out to get in on a "exceptional circumstances" category

My hubby got in on a 457 visa and he was 57. A migration agent told us that you can get PR even when you are over 45 but it has to be exceptional skills. Good luck

How old is his Wife and does she have a recognised profession? This might be an option for a permanent skilled immigration visa if she can be the main applicant BUT unless she is in her early 30s and/or can gather extra points from some of the other points based categories then I would say that age will count against them.

If they are willing to attempt trying for the SIR visa before progressing to PR then his wife sounds as if she has a good chance. It's all dependent on other factors too like character (assuming OK in this case ) and health (i.e. medical) etc.

By the way, it is also feasible that his wife can achieve the 120 points for PR application if she can also get points from some of the other minor points based categories.

Does'nt matter how old the spouse of the main applicant is........if she's only 32 with skills it's worth looking into.......maybe a good agent would point them in the right direction ??

Worth a go.............
