Smile Our little shipping experience...

was AWESOME!!

We used John Mason and I cant praise them enough. We only shipped about 16 boxes and from day one, their service has been spot on. Excellent communication right the way through the process.

Our boxes left the UK on 9/9/04 and were delivered to my door yesterday. Only one small breakage, the glass to a picture we sent which we had anticipated. However, in one box we had a load of Stuart crystal which arrived in perfect condition.

I would highly recommend them.

For those wondering why I havent been on here much, I still havent got my own internet access. Should be back online within a week!!

Take care

actually, just looked at john masons website and they have an online calculator for just shipping cartons - the quote for 1 carton cds, 1 carton tools, 5 cartons clothes, 1 carton linen, 1 suitcase and 5 cartons toys was £274.50!! only thing it didnt tell me was how big the cartons were.....I presume from reading other threads 12inchesx18inchesx12inches is the norm?

Glad you and you things are all safe and well. Just been on their website and did a quote. Seems very inexpensive. I take it this doesn't include any fees at the other end.

Hi Sue,

We had the same question when we were comparing shipping costs to Brisbane, so I emailed John Mason, and Gill Kelley, the International Move Manager, emailed me back with the following dimensions:

Dimension of packing boxes
Pack 1 - 18" x 18" x 10" Books/CD's
Pack 2 - 18" x 18" x 20" China/Glassware
Pack 3 - 18" x 18" x 30" Kitchenware/Pots & Pans
Pack 4 - 36" x 18" x 10" Clothing/Shoes

Gill seemed like a very nice lady and her email address is [email protected]

Insurance is about 3% of total value. Inspection fees are $22 per cubic metres, minimum $165 - to be paid prior to delivery in Brisbane. If any items need to be fumigated, fees are paid in Brisbane.

We ended up using another company in Northern Ireland (where we were shipping from) as the cost was considerably less.

Hope this helps.
