Just looking for some advice on setting up a Bank Acc before we get to Brisbane is this possible ?

Yes. We set up a migrant bank account with NAB prior to moving. Day we arrived, dropped into branch in Brissie to collect cheque books etc.
If you look on most of the big banks websites they have info on migrant banking.

I contacted an ANZ office in London, Though there was a mistake regarding the appointed branch in Australia due to a Town and suburb with the same name. It made no difference, Just went to the nearest branch soon after arrival with ID, Set up accounts, got cards etc.

CBA does the same thing and I am happy with them.
Opened up the account, and went into the branch to pick up cards etc. You can look on their website.

Michael, just opened bank accounts with ANZ and Commonwealth Bank in Sydney from the UK. Found the ANZ service to be better than the Commonwealth's.

Takes 3-4 working days. Debit cards will be waiting for you in a branch in Australia.
