Default One way travel insurance from Aus.

Does anyone know of an Australian insurance company that offers one way travel insurance? I know when we left the UK there were only a couple of companies there that offered it. Daughter is going back for a few months (allegedly) and whilst she could get insurance for the whole time it's going to cost and she's not planning on getting a return ticket until she's ready to return so things like repatriation aren't paid out on so seems pointless getting.

She's phoning around a few but so far they're all saying they don't do one way. Someone must surely?

No need to tell the insurance company that it is a one-way trip. You just get a quote for coverage for so many days and that's it - they don't need to know that you are not returning

I usually use:
https://www.insureandgo.com.au/

Decent price and I've actually made a claim that went smoothly and was paid out promptly. Groupon often has a deal with them

Ok I just assumed they'd refuse to pay out if they didn't see proof of return or some such nonsense. Thanks.

And that's what they do. Send us a copy of your flight details.

One should never give ANY opportunity to have one's claims denied by the insurance company - especially over a minutiae like a one way trip....

That's my worry. If money were no object I'd have her get cover for the whole time she's away just so she could be repatriated if the need arose but it is so it's irrelevant I've had a squizz on the MB forum, someone suggested WorldNomad in an old thread so I think she might be going with them just so the flight and a couple of days either side are covered.

I managed to get one way insurance from Australia but can't remember who it was with

However...I had to phone companies for a quote as they didn't seem able to process it online???

There were a couple who would do it though.

Thanks Gray. Yes you can't seem to do them online. I couldn't do our outward one way online but that was 11+ years ago, you'd have thought things would have moved on slightly! Or not.
