Wow, that sounds really cheap, I hope they are still doing that when our visa's come through!!!!

Do they have a website or just the phone number?

Thanks Terry,

Hazel

Hi Hazel

The UK website for Quantas is http://www.qantas.com.au/regions/dyn...fier-region-uk but you will need to phone for these special offers as far as i am aware.

There was quite a good thread on this about a month ago with a wide range of prices. I posted the Quantas leaflet on the thread if you want to have a look.

Be careful - and take note of the word FROM.

I met a Quantas Rep last week and was quoted £509.00 for 01 July to 14 Aug or £431.00 for 15 Aug to 14 Sept (London to Sydney).

If you shop around you can get one way flights with other airlines for less than that during the same period. The only thing you may lose is your double baggage allowance.

We spoke to a friend who emigrated to perth a month ago, who asked us if we could bring out a suitcase for her, as when she and her husband and the nippers turned up at the airport they was only allowed 20kg's instead of 40kg's which they thought they were entitled too, so in the panic they started emptying and throwing the case on the floor in front of everyone, kids fluffy toys, sex toys etc..

so it might be worth checking the flight details and double confirm what allowance you have, for deffo.

obviously the sex toys are a bit worn now, so she has no chance of getting them!!

To get the extra baggage allowance we had to send/fax a copy of our passports and visas to the travel company - Travelbag, who in turn faxed it to Singapore Airlines. A couple of weeks later we received our flight tickets with '40k' baggage allowance and 'migrant' printed on them. Hopefully no scenes at Heathrow Airport, chucking out our gear or wearing 20 layers of clothing.
