We are booked for early November with Emirates, 2 adults & 2 kids from Gatwick to Brisbane for £1488 all in, through Austravel. Recommend you get the best price you can then go back and forth quoting a price a bit lower asking them to match it. It worked for us and saved an extra £48 in the end, not a lot, but it will pay for a good meal out when you arrive. Singapore are great, but I hate the hassle of getting to Heathrow.
If you only stop for a few hours in Singapore try the rooftop pool in Terminal 1. It costs about £6 to get in and is a great way to unwind and even get a tan. You my need to check the opening hours, it isn't open 24hours.
