One Way Flight To Oz

Who used what airline for their flights to Oz. Would you recommend them, good and bad points please. Costs are also an issue - who got a bargain?

Is it best booking online? Any links to decent sites offering good prices.

We flew ,with singapore. Absolutley excellent. very good with our children, especially our 2yr old, good food on the plane, plenty of leg room, Andys
6ft 3 and was comfortable. Entertainment was very good, Excellent music, films and computer games for the kids. Singapore airlines I found, bent over backwards to make your journey as comfortable as it can be.

Singapore airlines are brilliant. Recommend them every time, plus Singapore is always an easy place to stop on the way over.

...are there any 'left luggage' facilities at Singapore to dump cases in when stopping over in Singapore?

We're flying through at the start of December and don't want to lug car seats etc any further than we need to.

Hi I spent most of yesterday online and on the phone getting quotes for 2 adults one way to Melbourne.

Cathy Pacific were the cheapest @ £368.00 but will only allow 20kg of luggage, the do a migrant special and this was about another £175.00 each and this allowed 40kg, as I told the lady on the phone this is not a particularly special price.

Emirates was good, £471 each and they would allow 40kg, but we would have to fax over copies of our Visas etc, this flight also had 2 short stops in Dubai and Singapore.

Qantas do a migrant special if you say you got there details via the Commonwealth Bank this was £484.00 each and the 40kg allowance and all we had to do to get this was quote our visa numbers. This was the one we booked leaving Heathrow 19th November.

Hope this has been of help to someone.

£1100 = 2 tickets one way to Melbourne via Hong Kong on Cathay, includes a stop off for 2 nights in a 4 star hotel right on the harbour. The actual price of tickets was £350 each. We booked with www.travelbag.co.uk part of the ebookers group.

Recently flew with Singapore Airlines for a good price, which came with a very cheap stop-over at Singapore staying at the Hilton. First time I had stayed at Singapore and loved it. The service everywhere was only service you could dream of in the UK. The city was absolutely spotless too - similar to Sydney etc.

Service onboard was great. The flight attendants were all good sorts (if you're in to a bit of asian delight you will like the talent). They were perhaps a little pedantic at times though, but i guess that's better than your average lazy British attendant on Brit Airways.

Downside - Was stuck behind a fat slob who kept trying to put her seat all the way back. Obviously my knees wouldn't allow such a thing. ;)

Food was crap, although I always hate the food on flights.
