I thought that when you got your two sets of cert. copies done, apart from the form filling that was all you needed to send to DIMIA.

But it appears we need our birth certs. as well - both of us. And a few more bits and pieces.

And we don't need to send it off till we get our TRA, which i suppose makes sense.

hi mate - yeah if i remember rightly you need further copies of passports, photos, birth certs ... ummmm.. not sure what else ..... :o

Oh well. Im not getting excited at all because we havent got the TRA yet.

When Abdel gets back, I am hoping Glen will send the Stat Dec and I can get the extra cert. copies done.

I have found Abdels P45 for Whitbread, so although that is a Stat Dec, I have the P45 and a pension statement and the original contract of employment which isn't too bad at all for evidence is it?

But as I say its not over yet by a long shot.

50 mins till my lecture. :(

I think mine is a full one.

Abdels one is in French and is nothing like the British one, it looks like someone has typed it up themselves.

He has his naturalisation certificate as a brit Cit. so we can bung that in as well for good measure.

no i disagree it`s not a mistake at all reading the back to the uk forum,
during our final months we spent time trying to be objective and in the end came up with a for and against list(the for list won)
some people quite simply do not like it here and it`s of great importance to you and the rest of your family to find out why!!and if any of the reason`s apply to you, especially if there are children involved!!!.
some of the reason`s for not settling may apply to you and some may not but it`s only you yourself who can decide!
suffice to say we are very happy here and have no intention of moving back to the uk ;)

i think what surprised me the most is that the OP onthe thread attached above, Libby, is someone i used to speak to at the beginning of the year when we were just starting out and she was heading to adelaide (i think). few months down the line and she is on her way back!!! i was really shocked/saddened.

but i guess its like im always saying to my kids "how do you know you dont like it, you havent even tried it yet!?!?"

or my husbands favourite saying "suck it and see!!!!!!!!!"  (that probably belongs in the lounge :o :o )

here`s the deal (as i see it) if you are really close to your immediate family ie they look after your kids if you wanna go out,you frequent your brother`s or sister`s every over weekend and you can`t sneeze without family knowing about it then it`s a bad move!
on the flip side if you are like me your mother has passed away(2 years ago friday)your dad has recently had a heart attack and moved to the other side of the country to be looked after properly, you see your MIL once a year at xmas, and you see your immediate family as you and your kids!!then book the flights and enjoy oz (WE DID) :D

Hi all this is Emzee's husband i must get my own nick name as this site is a bit addictive lol, anyway what i wanted to say is i am a born a bread Australian my wife is a Pom and you will find a few post from us on the moving back to UK forum.do not for one moment think that you are making a Mistake by looking at the part of this site,as it will help prepare you for the move to Australia which to be honest if you want to move here just do it,because if you dont you may well regret ti for the rest of your life,we have only been back in Australia since April 2005 but have decided it is not for us so we are moving back to the UK this month, but that is not to say you will not love it.And as for the post from CadburysFingers as a Australian what part of that do i come under being that i was born and spent most of my life in oz and i still want to move back to the UK :)or do i not have a brain to think for myself.Moving to Australia is not a bad or a good thing it may take the move for you to put your life in to prospective and with any luck you will live it but if you dont you can just come home at the end of the day.Anyway good luck to you all and enjoy life it's the only one you have :)

We went to that big hill in babbacombe where you go to the beachfront. NEVER DROVE DOWN IT, still scarred from last time.

Although I love it around the seafront road as you head ino town, nice area, we stayed on a long road, hmmmm, can't remeber, anyway there are some scary places near the university/college area :scared:

Nicer place than northampton though...
