Default OMG! 4 Job offers of sponsorship which one??

Hi all,
right we are in a bit of a situation, hubby got offered a job sponsor back in early April, now this company are not offering LAFHA or any relocation package , they are paying for the visa to be processed and meds and pcc checks, they have also said if/when we decide we want to go for PR in 1/2 yrs time on ENS then they will not pay for this but will agree to it, this job offer is in Sydney and we have 4 children, they are offering $55,000-$60,000.
we have had the offer and that is as far as it has gone up to now as we are stil awaiting our passports,

now this week we had a lady from an Agency in Aus contact us after she saw hubbies cv on seek and Career one website and explained she works and recruits for the 3 top fire industry companies Chubb,Wormald, and Spectrum, she has since E-mailed us telling us Chubb and Spectrum are both willing to Sponsor hubby and these offers are in Brisbane, and there is also a position in Perth, ok so now we are thinking omg what do we do, she said she will find out what package they will do and get back to us after the weekend,

ok so now we are thinking what do we do, well we then get another E-mail from another company Based in Perth just saying ,

Hi colin (hubbies name)

I am currently on sick leave but I will contact you early next week. It is a Bank Holiday here on Monday

now he left a website addy for us to look at, now what happens if this is also a jjob offer this also is in Perth nr Scarborough,

we are in such a conundrum now and think we should hold fire on the first offer to see what the others are offering , but hubby is also worried if we hang on to long they may pull out, but on the offer this is no startdate , it just has to be decided

what do you think, should we hang on for a week or so just to see what the offers are

Take whichever one is offering the best package!
This is business, and you have to get the best deal for you and the family.

I would say that one of them will offer better terms than you've already been offered and that Sydney is the most expensive place to live in Aus, and that 60,000 is not a lot to live off in a place like that!

hold out for what you can get!

Hang on for the best deal. 60K is not a lot in Sydney.

Hope you get a good offer.

Try and agree some relocation costs otherwise the move will drain a lot of your funds. Also hold out for some LAFHA, this is paid tax free and will really boost your funds

Congratulations! what a great position to be. Definitely go for the best deal. I think things will be very tight on 60K for 6 of you.

Let us know what you decide to do.

Good Luck!

nope just sent resume over internet, and applied for jobs on seek, careerone etc, even if hubby didnt have all the qualifications they asked for we applied anyway, the jobs we have been offered over the last couple of days were from a women that runs an agency in Aus and she specialises in my husbands line of work, which is a fire alarm tech/engineer, she is doing all the legwork and finding out for us , but the other 2 i looked through yellowpages.au and typed in hubbies line of work and just sent hubbies resume to them even though they werent advertising, just a quick note though we did have hubbies resume proffesionally done , maybe this has helped, £60 well spent i say

we wont have to apparently, i sent E-mail to NSW govt asking if we could get a reduced payment, they asked for details of family, wages etc and i sent this back to them, they replied with a exemption form for us to fill in and said, with the information i had forwarded to them i would get exemption as we have 4 children of school age and not a high wage, but have also looked into catholic schools , and a school i E-mailed have said they have placement for all 4 of them and it will cost us $4000 for the year for all of them, so their are if you research ways to help in situations like ours

Sounds like all the time spent on research etc is really paying off, esp with the reduced school fees - well done.

I've also been thinking about getting my CV professionally done. Can you let me know where you got it done please?

Thanks and good luck with your move!

hiya , yep been researching for a few mths now and found out lots of info, a lot has started from this site with peoples suggestions, then i have just searched the web, anyways these are the people that did hubbies CV, it costs about £54-£60 but thats because you have to have the advanced CV as this is done specially for emigration purposes, we didnt have a cover letter with ours, hubby decided if he needed one he would do it himself.

heres the link

Don't be afraid to negotiate....eg "I was anticipating an offer in the region of $80KPA salary, plus benefits." "What is the signing-on bonus for this role?" "Oh, no signing on bonus? Gosh - I was expecting at least $2K....."

Also, push for a performance-linked salary review at 3 and six months as well as one year

Thanks for the CV company link -- bookmarked it as i'll look into it nearer the time.

Oh btw forgot to say that Benfleet's just up the road from me in Wickford. Oz is definitely a far cry from these parts!

Let us know what happens about the job offers
