Smile offshore

HI
Not been on for ages, but things are going well

We are here on a 4 year temp visa , and we are about to put in our application for perm. we have to apply for an offshore visa, but we are not sure how this works because of the kids schooling and our jobs. How long do we have to be out of the country? do we get told roughly when to leave the country?

can anyone help

Steph

You'll have more chance of a response if you ask on the immigration forum.

What kind of visa are you applying for? Skilled independent or employer nominated (the latter kind can be done onshore).

An 'offshore' visa will mean you'll need to go to Singapore or New Zealand (or the UK) for a week or so when DIMIA are ready to finalise your application. It also means no bridging visa so you must keep your existing visa current.
