Office dress code
Over the past umpteen years, wherever I have worked, be it a small company or an international one, the dress code has been casual but smart. But in the recent years, even jeans have been okay as long as you were presentable and clean.
Now I don't own any suits. Does anyone know what the dress code for office workers is in Oz? Do women wear skirts/trousers and jackets or smart casual goes? Otherwise I might need to nip down to M & S and get a couple of suits. Drat! Thanks |

In the office I work in - large, prestigious mining project - anything goes. Shorts, t-shirts, trainers, suits. They don't give a shit.

When I worked in Melbourne 99/2000, the men in the offices had more highlights in their hair then the women. Fact.

The company I work for is casual. Some people wear jeans, most are a bit smarter. |

Re: Office dress code
If I'm meeting clients or stakeholders, a suit. If I'm sitting behind my PC all day, smart casual. No jeans, trainers, thongs, shorts, t-shirts etc.
In OH's office, the women have to wear tights or stockings which I think is a bit harsh in an Australian summer. |

Here I come, M&S! More money to spend before we go!

Re: Office dress code
Just about mostplaces you can get away with machine washable trousers and a shirt. Even when others choose to wear a tie.
It's no so bad. |
