Default NZ PR application through Spouse

Our house sale seems to be going well, and I am getting a bit worried about our timeline on application for my wife's PR based on my NZ passport. We are awaiting the police check (see my other inquiry), and intend to go into NZ House with everything ship shape.

Has anybody got their PR (through spouse) by visiting NZ house?
Did you get the PR approved there and then?
If not, how long did it take?

Any other advice about visiting NZ House would be appreciated. I have heard don't go on Mondays.

Has anybody visited after the recent news (I'm guessing they may be a bit busy right now)?

Sorry I can't help with the technical stuff, but I wanted to remind you to take a carrier bag as there is an NZ info centre in NZ House on the left as you enter the building on ground floor, which has shelves full of brochures, newspapers, maps, and other useful info, all free! I staggered out with armfulls of stuff!

There are three or four interview desks in the NZIS dept on the first floor, and you take a numbered ticket for your place in the queue. I went on a thursday lunchtime and there were about 4/5 people in front of me, but most people didn't take long. Don't know about since the changes though, it's probably busier. There are also free NZ emmigration newspapers you can take home.

Good luck

Thanks - I was in myself last week (at the Passport section) and noted how efficient it all seemed. I also picked up plenty of info, and some goodies from Kiwifruits shop.

Good to find out a bit more about the immigration section, my wife will be going in with 2 young children so hopefully the wait won't be too long.

Regards

Hi B,

Did you try Kev on *****? Not sure what visa he's on though, come to think of it I don't think they're married yet. Or perhaps try Andykelly1, his missus is going on a spouse visa, I have his email if you want it...

Cheers Gra..
