NZ General Skills pass mark 30...!
From 7th October 2002 the pass mark is going to be set at 30.....!!! Check-out http://www.immigration.govt.nz/
It seems that NZIS has no option but to increase the passmark at their free will to negotiate with the pendency. I wonder if this is really going to work out for the benefit of their skilled immigration program in the long-term. With the pass mark set at 30, I'm sure most of the highly skilled young potential migrants who failed to qualify directly but were considering the Job Search policy would not be eligible at all even by this route for quite some time. 30 means that to get a work visa one would need to have 25 points and that's more than the pass mark that was there some time in the near past. Of course it might not matter much to the people eligible for WHV who can at least find a way through but I'm sure there are also a bunch of very talented young people in the other parts of the world.
Views please....
