Welcome to the forum

If the status you have in NZ doesn't already allow you to live/work in Aus then the first place you should look is here www.immi.gov.au

re. IT, Sydney & Melbourne are probably considered to have the largest market for this. I guess some luck and being in the right place, right time will come into it as well, as the IT market does seem to be a fiercely competed one.

And further to this:

1. NZ permanent residence gives *no* rights in Australia.

2. NZ citizenship gives the right to live/work in Australia but if you want full PR rights you need to qualify for a PR visa. However the fact you can work in Australia anyway as a Kiwi usually means you can get PR more easily as employer nomination is often an option.

3. If leaving NZ without citizenship, at least make sure you have an Indefinite Returning Resident Visa.

4. Be aware that the residence period for NZ citizenship is going up to 5 years from January. There will be a transitional period whereby existing PRs can still access the 3 year waiting period, but if you leave NZ and return later on you may have to restart the 5 year clock from scratch.
http://www.citizenship.govt.nz

5. Be careful if you are going to leave NZ and work in Australia on a temporary visa (ie without PR), especially if you have no easy route back to NZ.

Might I also ask

Why are you bored in NZ?

Do you think that Australia is going to be that different?

The massive numbers of New Zealanders that immigrate to OZ each year obviously think so.
Are'nt New Zealanders the largest migrant group to OZ each year, while few
Aussies move to NZ.

True. My fiance is a Kiwi. Her mother is from Yorkshire and her Father is Welsh

I think that Kiwi's move here as there are more opportunities here and the ease with migration. But I see plenty of opportunities in NZ. Not saying that the grass is greener but still

Then there is the sign at Auckland Airport asking the last person to get on the plane to turn off the lights in New Zealand and to put a note out telling the milkman his services are no longer needed

I am English, i married a Kiwi and we lived in Auckland for 2yrs. We now live in Adelaide.
I was very unhappy in NZ, making the move to Australia was the best thing we ever did. Even my husband who is a NZ citizen, says he could never live there again.

Found this interesting as we've lived in NZ for 31/2 years and don't find it boring or uninteresting but we have wondered about the " grass being even greener in Aussie"
What do you guys prefer in Aus to NZ ? Cheers

Just popped in for the first time in about a month to see what was going on and the pointless NZ bashing continues, I see.

Oh well, nice to know that, while my life in NZ continues to get better and better, nothing changes on here so I am not missing anything.

Merry Christmas
