Default Nursing in Brisbane

Hi everyone

Is there anyone out there who knows much about nursing in Australia, ie whats the pay and conditions like. Im a mental health nurse hoping to get a job at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. Is there any other nurses out there who are equally disapointed with the Nhs!!

Hi Judi,
My partner Clare isn't a Nurse but is a Radiographer, she has been sponsored by an Australian Medical agency (Drake). We are due to go in about 10 weeks,as regards to pay 45-55k is about the norm, $'s of course there are many variances with regards to pay, Private or NHS?urban or rural?Have you got your visa? ours is a 457 so i can go with Clare and have absolutely no work restrictions!
Good Luck

Hi Judi,
I'm an A&E nurse heading for Brisbane area next year.
There's a guy called Dog19363 who's a mental Health nurse in Adelaide who has posted a few times. Try doing a search on the areas you most want to know about.
As far as I can tell all things vary considerably from area to area so it's quite hard to get the answers you really want. I guess the only way any of us will know for sure is to try it and see!
Good luck
Lizzy

I'm a mental health nurse and i've just been offered a job with the North West Mental Services in Melbourne. The pay scal goes on your years of service. You need a signed headed letter from your employer stating how many years you've worked there and the number of hours per week. I'm going on a 457 visa, once i get it that is!!
