NURSES, please help!!
Hi there,
I am a nurse moving to Queensland in September, I have a small baby and would like to work on a casual/very part time/agency basis.
What should I do and who should I apply 2??
Are the hospitals accomadating for family needs? are there nurseries in some hospitals?
Should I contact Queensland Health
Duz anyone know of any nursing agencies which operate in the Queensland area?
Thanku xx

Hi
You should have not much trouble getting a job, causal or part time.
Where exactly in Queensland are you moving to? Will help to recommend employers.
Also, check out the nursing forum on this website - you can search for loads of info and ask more questions.

Hi Louise, how's it going? You would be better doing agency/casual work, as you can pick what suits you. If you do a search on Google.com.au you will get an ides of how many there are.
Tell me about the baby. What did you have? Hope you are all well & September will be here before you know it.

Hi oh great news Louise, I bet he is just gorgeous.
Yeah just google, nursing agencies Brisbane. A few I can recall are Oxley & Healthcore but these are peoplpe who come to mental health, don't know if general will use different agencies.
Yeah we still enjoying life here. Neil's job good, I'm still struggling a wee bit with mine.
We are actually booked to come home in June for 3 weeks to catch up with family, can't wait. We are flying with Singapore Air.
Try www.realestate.com.au Great for buying & renting.
Hope you hear soon re the visa. I remember the wait so well. Fingers crossed.

Hi Louise,
Just wanted to say I was really pleased to read your message, as i was also wondering the same thing!
We are at the very beginning of our journey to Oz. We are looking to come to Perth just for a year initially. We have been in contact with a nursing agency called Vital Recruitment who have given us some useful information, and are just in the process of applying for nursing registration. My OH is an ITU nurse and will be working full-time. I am also a nurse, specialising in palliative care. We have a 15 month old little boy, therefore I will need to work part-time/agency and/or consider childcare options.
Don't mean to hijack your thread but I would be grateful for any similar advice re good agencies/childcare in and around Perth.
Good luck for the visa
